Who is Mario Flores?

First and foremost, Mario is a loving father and husband. He is running for office to ensure that this County is a safe place to grow up as well as a just environment for everyone. 

Mario is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, the University of Texas at Austin and Cornell University. As an Austin City Planner, Mario was responsible for the development of numerous public projects and community inclusion initiatives. In his practice as an attorney, Mario has been a champion for underrepresented persons and is a fierce advocate for fairness and equality in our judicial system. 

Mario is involved in numerous state and national organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the Hispanic Bar Association and the Knights of Columbus Council 8156. He was honored as the Rising Star Attorney by Texas Super Lawyers Magazine in 2010 and 2012.

As a statutory County Court Judge Mario will bring the fairness and integrity necessary for an effective and just court at law.


Mario Flores grew up in Edinburg, Texas. He originates from a family of migrant workers and field laborers. He studied Urban Planning at Cornell University and attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Masters degree in Community and Regional Planning. Mario's first career was as a dedicated Community Planner. After being promoted and and holding title as a Senior Planner, Mario chose to pursue his passion in justice by becoming a lawyer at the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Mario has been an attorney for 9 years. He began his legal career at Dubois, Bryant and Campbell where he worked on array of issues ranging from estate planning, civil litigation, probate to real estate. After gaining valuable experience from Dubois, Bryant and Campbell, Mario decided to pursue his own legal practice which he has maintained for the last six years. Mario believes in helping the disenfranchised, and runs a general law practice which helps everyone from large companies to individuals with meager resources.

Mario loves being involved and feels a duty of obligation to his community and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the American Cancer Society. He has also served as general counsel for the Austin Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. He also has attained the rank of 3rd Degree Knight in Council 8156 of the Knights of Columbus to which he has participated in community service events such as Texas Chainsaw Manicure at Down Home Ranch.

Mario's legal recognitions include being identified as a "Rising Star Attorney" among the Texas Super Lawyers on multiple occasions.

Mario's wife, Megan Flores, is a Physical Therapy professor at St. Augustine University. They have two boys, Aidan and Alexander. Mario is a dedicated family man and strives everyday to become the best role model for his children. During his time off, Mario enjoys time with his family, playing racquetball, tennis and exercising.
